Conures

Conures are one of my favorite informal groups of parrots and include many species. I have focused heavily on conures in selecting species for my breeding program. From the familiar green cheek to the much more rare blue throat conure, I have a variety of species to offer!

Green cheeks (P. molinae)

Green cheeks are a natural favorite for both beginners and experienced keepers with their clownish behavior, apartment-friendly voices, smaller size, and variety of colors. I offer mooncheeks, turquoise, mint, and pineapple.

Black caps (P. rupicola)

These birds are in the same genus as green cheeks, but are not as commonly found as green cheeks. Like green cheeks, they are fairly space friendly, and may do okay in an apartment with adequate enrichment and attention.

Crimson bellies (P. perlata)

A little bigger on average than a green cheeked conure, but in the same genus! These little parrots are friendly, playful, and silly. They have the same amount of clownishness you’d expect from most any conure, and flashy red feathers to boot!

Roseifrons (P. roseifrons)

These little ones are related to green cheeks, but slightly more dainty. Otherwise, they are quite similar in behavior, space needs, and volume levels. They start with comparatively drab colors as babies and grow into their beautiful rosy faces as they mautre.

Blue throat (P. cruentata)

One of the largest species of Pyrrhura (the same genus as green cheeks!), blue throats are rare in the wild and rarer still in the US! Due to federal law, I can currently only offer these birds to WA state residents.
